THE VIBE: European-based hotel brand, The Hoxton has finally landed in one of New York’s hottest neighborhoods. We’re taking you over the bridge to Williamsburg. The Hoxton Williamsburg has quickly become a local hotspot. While there, expect to find freelancers working on their laptops, men in knit hats sipping on espresso, friends catching up over drinks, and of course – an Instagrammer or two.
THE SLEEP: Compact and chic, the 175 guestrooms have quirky patterned duvets by Brooklyn based designer Dusen Dusen, mohair headboards, brass finishes and fun design elements; all of which are very Brooklyn. The rooms, which come in two sizes (Cosy or Roomy) all have floor-to-ceiling windows.
TRY IT ON:
THE TASTE: The hotel team brought in Williamsburg icons Jud Mongell of Five Leaves, the Australian brunch hot spot known for its otherworldly pancakes and too-cool-for-you waitstaff, and Zeb Stewart of Union Pool to develop the F&B program. The restaurant, Kleins, is an all-day eatery serving artfully plated American fare in an aesthetically pleasing and welcoming environment. Weather permitting, head to The Backyard, for an outdoor cocktail. The Backyard has pretty much everything you wish you had in your own backyard: ping-pong tables, lounge chairs, and a bar with craft cocktails all of which are cloaked in the soft glow of festive string lights.
THE LOCALE: Our recommendation for how to spend the perfect day in Williamsburg? Coffee at Devocion on Grand Street followed by shopping and exploring the neighborhood. There are so many incredible boutiques in Williamsburg, that we love: Leif, Mociun Home, and Pilgrim Surf + Supply. In the summer, drinks at Freehold or cocktails on the rooftop of The William Vale hotel are a must. Oh, and if you’re keen to explore other neighborhoods in Brooklyn, we enjoy walking through the Dumbo waterfront and meandering through the rows of beautiful Brownstones in Brooklyn Heights. Summer, where are you?
