Working to continue to spread the warmth and light of hospitality to those in need, Hilton Chicago team members Allie Rodgers, Director of Events, Ann Daeger, Assistant Director of Catering and Sean Kalbach, Director of Finance, packaged and donated 200 personal care kits to longtime partner, Catholic Charities in April 2020. These kits include amenities like shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel and lotions. Coming together and supporting the Chicago community, these personal care packages are intended to help anyone who might be going through financial difficulty at this time.

Most of you likely know the name Standard Textile from its serene Standard Textile Home collection, or its sumptuous Mascioni Hotel Collection linens that can only be found at the finest hotels in the world, such as Baccarat Hotel in New York City and Napa Valley’s North Block Hotel. What you may not know is that for nearly 80 years, the family-owned company has also designed and manufactured innovative healthcare products, from hospital sheets to surgical gowns. In response to the nationwide shortage of healthcare products, Standard Textile has been leading an urgent charge to increase its production of PPE to support frontline medical workers, patients and their families, revamping its facilities to make more face masks, face shields, reusable cover gowns, and other much-needed supplies. We could not be more grateful to the team at Standard Textile, for their commitment to manufacturing as much reusable PPE and healthcare products as possible and their dedication to alleviating the immense stress placed upon the healthcare industry.
Galt House Hotel
AJS Hotels, parent company of Louisville’s iconic Galt House Hotel is extending services to both its employees and the community. Galt House has created a “Food & Paper Pantry” for its employees. Hourly associates may access a food pantry from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, soups, milks, household goods, and other essential items (toilet paper, diapers, sanitary products included). In addition, the company has extended the following benefits to police and first responders: All first responders and hospital staff can enjoy a 25 percent discount on carryout from the hotel’s brasserie, Walker’s Exchange.
COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin
Started by the owner of a small B&B in the UK, the #TreatOurNHS campaign was created to give back to the UK’s National Health Service workers (NHS) with complimentary accommodations after the ongoing crisis is over. Hotel and accommodation providers all over the UK have now taking on the #TreatOurNHS initiative and are offering what they can as a way to give back. COMO Hotels and Resorts has joined the efforts offering two NHS workers a complimentary weekend stay in a suite with breakfast included at their London properties, COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin. While this campaign is limited to NHS workers in the UK, you can nominate an NHS worker, head to COMO Hotels and Resorts Instagram and check out their #TreatOurNHS post, and tag your NHS heroes in the comments below.
