The Vibe: Lying at the foot of Mount Kuchumaa, Rancho La Puerta embodies wellness and healing through nature with hiking or running through meadows and up the foothills of the mountain, outdoor meditation, and sunrise yoga. Your home at the 4000-acre ranch is a traditional Mexican style casita, a cabin-like suite with wood-beamed ceilings, sweeping archways, hand-carved furniture, folk art, and hand-painted Aztec tiles. Choose to stay alone in Ranchera Solo, with a group of up to four in a Villa Suite (house-like with two bedrooms and two bathrooms) or in a Villa Studio with a group of three to enjoy patio views of the mountains and cozy up in front of the brick fireplace. All packages include a week-long stay with access to all resort amenities, activities, the spa, and meals.

Wellness: When you’re not off hiking, indulging in HIIT (an intensive guided cardio workout), or attending inspirational lectures from noted musicians, authors, artists, and wellness gurus, the ranch’s spa is your sanctuary for relaxing, restoring, and energizing. Treatments use medicinal herbs grown in the Tres Estrellas Organic Farm onsite beneath the slopes of Mount Kuchumaa, and options range from holistic therapies like Reiki (a form of energy healing) and Craniosacral Therapy (reduces aches, chronic pain, and emotional imbalances) to more traditional mani-pedis.

Practitioners recommend cleansing at the start of your week, relaxing and restoring in the middle, and energizing in your last few days. Kick off your cleansing regime with a Shiatsu massage, Embodying Wellbeing Ritual to cultivate a connection between yourself and nature, and the La Puerta Core Essential Facial. Get your relaxation on with the Head-to-Toe Relaxation Massage or Japanese Restorative Facial, and finish by energizing with an Ancestral Energy Cleanse, which balances your energy field through gentle touch and native herbs.

Eat + Drink: Designed to bring people together and build relationships, all guests eat in the dining hall, where freshly picked produce and Lacto-ovo cuisine (no meat or poultry, but includes fish and dairy) is served. Tuck into fresh ceviche tostadas with avocado and salsa macha, grilled watermelon and radish salad with green goddess dressing, and vegan strawberry shortcakes with lemon cream for dessert.

Curated Experience: Make sure to attend one of La Cocina Que Canta’s cooking classes hosted by internationally renowned chefs on the ranch’s six-acre farm. All produce is freshly picked from the organic garden.

The Vibe: Nestled in tropic jungle vegetation between the Pacific Ocean and Sierra Madre Mountains, Haramara Retreat allows you to disconnect from the world and fully connect with yourself and the surrounding wildlife. Stay in a rustic-luxe cabaña, kitted out with sheer gauze curtains, handwoven sheets, and oil lamps (there’s no electricity at all), with ocean or jungle views that open directly to the great outdoors — where you can take an open-air shower at the end of the day. The retreat also has an infinity pool, cooking classes where you can master Haramara cuisine, and a boutique with handmade Greek and Mexican fashion, jewelry, and accessories. Rates include a seven-night stay in a private cabaña with access to all facilities, yoga instruction, and meals.

Wellness: The focus here is on yoga and reconnecting guests to nature and their authentic selves by detaching from city life and technology. Guests flow in the two yoga pavilions with panoramic views of the jungle and mountains. In addition to yoga, the retreat offers special rituals and ceremonies, including one that symbolizes the circle of life and death to promote purification and healing. Indulge in a treatment at the spa featuring a menu of Japanese, Swedish, and Thai massages, reflexology, acupuncture, body scrubs, and facials.

Eat + Drink: The retreat’s restaurant specializes in fresh, mostly vegan dishes infused with local, organic ingredients, including fresh-off-the-boat seafood. Try the finely pureed Gazpacho topped with basil, the red snapper served over vegetables, and peach cake with coconut and kiwi for dessert.

Curated Experience: Go snorkeling off the stunning Marietas Islands in Punta Mita with Get Your Guide, just a 25-minute drive from the retreat. Or drive 10 minutes to the traditional Mexican town of Sayulita to shop and explore the history and culture.

The Vibe: Located opposite Be Tulum Hotel, one of the hippest hotels in Tulum, the Yään Healing Sanctuary is a day retreat that offers exactly that: healing and sanctuary in luxury eco-cabins. The goal is to heal your mind, body, and soul through Mayan rituals and holistic practices like the Yään healing bath (enjoyed in a copper bathtub in your own private cabin), and ancient temazcal (a sweat lodge representing the womb of Mother Earth) ceremonies, which is a deeply spiritual experience meant to cleanse of inner pains and allow you to rebirth as you exit the ceremony. You’ll also come away feeling amazing, having indulged in fresh, healthy food and herbal treatments using rosemary, lavender, mint, and lemongrass grown in the organic rooftop garden. The Sanctuary offers different packages, including ritual, romantic, and Yään cleanses that range from one to five days.

Wellness: A team of medical professionals, holistic practitioners, yogis, and nutritionists will rejuvenate mind, body, and soul through Mayan rituals that promote cleansing, detoxing, meditation, yoga, and good nutrition. The program begins with a healing water circuit that involves a sauna, steam room, marble hammam room (similar to a Turkish bath), and massage pools. Then you are free to take your pick of the dreamy treatments and therapies. The Aztec Chakra Balancing Massage uses floral oils to encourage the body’s internal healing process. The Garden of Yään Body Treatment begins with a botanical body exfoliation, followed by a holistic massage using coconut butter, and a healing bath using herbs, flowers, salts, and therapeutic oils as the grand finale.

Eat + Drink: Be Tulum Hotel is where the food and fun happens, and there’s plenty of options. Maresias is a cool raw bar serving oysters and traditional dishes such as ceviche and vegetable Carpaccio. 4 Fuegos restaurant has a wood-burning grill to create its signature Cajun tempura Po Boy sandwich and whole grilled lobster. Indulge in the flavors of India, Morocco, Argentina, and Spain at Ocumare Restaurant by Michelin-starred Chef Mauricio Giovanini. Try his poultry chicken thigh with lentil cream, green salad with zucchini, broccoli pate, beans, and grilled asparagus; crumble cake with ricotta cheese, lemon foam; and orange and ginger ice cream. Top off the night with a margarita at the Beach Bar looking out over the Caribbean Sea.

Curated Experience: Besides exploring the ancient Mayan ruins in Tulum, taking a dip in one of Tulum’s gorgeous cenotes at Parque Tankah is a serious highlight. Book a tour through Get Your Guide.
