The South Place Hotel is located in London’s East End, which is likened to the vibe of the Lower East Side of Manhattan. A little rock and roll, a little grunge, and a whole lot of history. Eclectic art pieces and splashes of color adorn the contemporary space of the interior of the hotel, while maintaining a very posh, modern feel. Within the hotel walls is a speakeasy bar and a Michelin starred restaurant; a pairing that couldn’t get much better, in our humble opinion.

Planning a party for 80? Book the whole place and go wild. The 80 luxurious guest rooms range from a South Place-facing Loft to a grand East Wing suite. The eclectic décor and hand-selected British artwork make each room feels like your own personal flat. Our plan? Fall in love with a local and extend our stay in the East Wing. The suite has a private entrance, dining room, kitchenette, bar, and a designated room service team. Shacking up with a beautiful stranger has never felt more right.

THE TASTE
For a craft beer and savory cooking like Mum’s, make a reservation at the South Place Chop House. If you’re looking for something more upscale, head to the roof and enjoy decadent seafood from Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Angler. The Angler Terrace is the restaurant’s adjoining open-air space where you are guaranteed gorgeous city views all year round.
Beyond dining, the South Place Hotel has three trendy bars, including our personal favorite, 3 Bar, which has a selection of 40 different gins. The second bar, Le Chiffre, is the speakeasy we mentioned earlier. If you’re looking to knock back a few drinks in a secretive spot, Le Chiffre is most definitely the place. Last but certainly not least is Secret Garden, an exclusive outdoor bar that is practically made for an Instagram moment. While enjoying your cocktail, you will be surrounded by the most serene setting of waterfalls, palm trees, and blooming flowers that hang from the ceiling. And no, this is not a review for a resort in Bali. We’re still in London, people. Yes, it’s that good.

A true fitness fiend knows there are no time for breaks, which is perfect because the gym at South Place is open 24 hours. After your workout, hop into the steam or sauna and experience showers with three different types of soothing rainfall. Signature spa treatments at South Place include a tranquility aromatherapy massage with essential oils and a sports massage to relieve muscle tension and enhance performance.
