pool view from a villa at COMO Parrot Cay

Enter the private world of COMO Parrot Cay, and vacation like a rockstar (or super model or top fashion designer). This chic, private island, located 600 miles southeast of Miami in the Turks and Caicos, is home to film, music, and fashion icons who, quietly, over the years, have made their homes away from home here. When the celebrity owners are not in residence, their villas — which come with private beach access and COMO’s signature butler service — are available for rent.

Legendary Singaporean hotelier Christina Ong dreamed up COMO Parrot Cay (which opened in 1998) as a place of understated elegance. The experience begins with a 25-minute boat ride from the mainland, where guests arrive to check into the tranquil hotel, home to the world-renowned COMO Shambhala Spa, or one of the private beach house villas — a few owned (or formally owned) by celebrities including super model, Christie Brinkley (Lucky House), and fashion designer Donna Karan (The Sanctuary).

Brinkley purchased her three-bedroom “Lucky House’ 25 years ago, and says she still feels lucky every second she is there. The house sits on 1.6 secluded acres, and includes a 45-foot infinity pool, access to an open-air yoga studio and Ayurvedic spa.

Designed by Karan,  the three-bedroom Sanctuary exudes a peaceful spirit with its cedar-paneled walls, teak furniture, walnut floors, and limestone bathrooms. We also love the antiques and ornaments collected by the famed interior designer during her travels.
