When you think of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, chances are one of its many iconic properties come to mind. From The Plaza in New York City to Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in the heart of Quebec City, Fairmont’s landmark hotels have been creating memorable moments for generations of travelers.
Lately we’ve become obsessed with their newest addition, the historic Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley, California, which officially joined the Fairmont portfolio this past December, just in time for the hotel’s 100th anniversary. The hotel’s super luxe multi-million dollar renovation is nothing short of spectacular, with castle-like architecture and handsomely restored guestrooms and suites, an impressive recreational club and spa and other luxurious amenities. A visit to Claremont Club & Spa is not complete without experiencing the newly restored Lobby Bar, where you’ll find us indulging in a barrel-aged cocktail and enjoying marvelous views of the San Francisco Bay.
These and other historic properties were recently the focus of the brand’s inaugural Luxury Insights Report, which established a clear emotional connection between travelers and historic hotels, and demonstrated Fairmont’s passion for their preservation and restoration. Now, that’s something that we can get on board with.
