Aside from its robust culinary scene, Melbourne is also decorated as one of the world’s greatest street art capitals – where unique expressions of art color the city’s laneways.

Right off the cusp of hosting the 2017 World’s 50 Best Awards, Melbourne blends its gastronomic expertise and its captivating street art with a monumental tribute to a selection of the world’s best chefs. Prolific street artist, Heesco gives face to five of these World’s 50 Best chefs in a giant spray painted mural blasted amongst the wall of Melbourne’s Higson Lane. This video is a fun must-watch!

The decorated chefs who make up this piece include: Ben Shewry, chef-owner of Australia’s highest-ranked restaurant – Attica; Joan Roca, of El Celler De Can Roca in Spain, currently awarded the 2017 Art of Hospitality Award; Massimo Bottura, whose restaurant Osteria Francescana is currently ranked second in the world; Daniel Humm, of Eleven Madison Park which was awarded the 2017 World’s Best Restaurant; and Heston Blumenthal, chef-owner of the UK’s Best Restaurant, Fat Duck.
