For those that crave a truly unique and authentic NYC experience, here are some insider experiences that are almost too good to share.

A Cocktail at The Met’s Cantor Rooftop Garden Bar

One of our beloved spots to enjoy a rooftop cocktail come spring is the Metropolitan Museum of Art when the world-famous museum unveils its latest highly anticipated exhibition on their seasonal Cantor Roof Garden. Order a vino at the outdoor bar and check out the new installation while being mesmerized with Instagram worthy skyline views of Central Park.

*Tribe tip: Head here on a Saturday, when the museum closes at 9pm, but the rooftop stays open until 10pm. Take advantage of an almost private stroll through The Met’s famed corridors and take in world-renowned works on your way out.

An Elegant Italian Dish at Il Cantinori

For a celebrity hotspot with a low key local vibe, make a reservation at Il Cantinori. Renowned for its unpretentious atmosphere and simple, delectable Tuscan cuisine Il Cantinori is a New York classic that never fails to delight. Let your server know what tickles your fancy and they’ll handcraft the perfect drink (made to order cocktails are their specialty) and don’t forget to take a sneak peek at the back right corner…that’s Al Pacino’s table.

Walking the High Line, a defunct railway turned expansive green garden, is a must on the NYC checklist. Start your journey at the Gansevoort Hotel and walk through Chelsea to the newly developed Hudson Yards on the West Side Yard at 34th Street. Along your exploration of the elevated public park enjoy gorgeous city views, sundecks, curated gardens, and contemporary art installations. At the 14th Street passage, stop to browse artwork for purchase from local artists and grab a bite from one of the delicious artisanal food vendors.

Known for its quintessential uptown New York City charm, the Upper West Side is home to some of the best eateries and pizza in the city. Steps from Central Park and only two blocks from each other at 72nd Street, Patsy’s Pizza and Levain Bakery are treasured gems that have everything you need for the perfect picnic in the park. Pick up a classic margarita pizza and a box of Levain’s signature fresh-baked cookie assortment, pick a spot on the green and do NYC in authentic alfresco style while decked in your favorite picnic attire.
