Emily Hollister has called Nantucket home every summer for the past 15 years. The style force behind one of the island’s best fashion boutiques, Emily opened Milly and Grace, named after her two grandmothers, a decade ago.  Head to the super cute ivy-colored store for a curated selection of laidback designer pieces, shabby-chic homewares, and elegant statement jewelry.

Zipping into town with my family on our beloved aluminum dinghy to pick up breakfast sandwiches and coffees from Black-Eyed Susan’s and then boating across the harbor to Coatue for a breakfast picnic and a dip. Parts of Coatue are only accessible by boat so even during high season, it feels like a true escape. Beach BBQs, s’mores, and sunsets on the south shore with family and friends are also high on the list.

Describe the vibe of your fashion boutique?

Milly & Grace is a lifestyle brand that celebrates and inspires the simple pleasures of everyday.

This season it’s all about flowy summer dresses, high-waisted jeans, white tees, layered necklaces, gold hoops, summer slides and sunglasses.

Where is foodie heaven?

I love visiting all the island farms and markets and bringing home whatever is just harvested, tomatoes from Washashore Farm, corn from Bartlett’s Farm, eggs from Boatyard Farm, greens from Pumpkin Pond, sourdough from Born & Bread, squash blossoms from Moors End. Sustainable Nantucket has made a wonderful effort to promote local farms and there’s something about the fresh salt air out here that makes the summer produce so delicious. Provisions has the best coffee, Lemon Press for juice and lemonade, Cru for lobster rolls, Proprietors for cocktails and the homemade Toffee Crunch in a hand-rolled waffle cone at The Juice Bar for ice cream.

What does your summer beauty and wellness routine look like?

I love going on long walks with friends, it’s how we stay connected during the busy summer season. Over half of the island is protected conservation land and so I’m always discovering new trails and pockets even after 15 years living here. You’ll also find me at Supta Yoga.  Beauty wise, I can’t live without Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 and Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser.

Where do you go for a retail fix?

For fashion, Milly & Grace of course, but also The Lovely and Erica Wilson. Interiors, I love Bodega, Nomad, and Space.

Divulge a hidden gem?

Wild blueberry picking in the Moors!

If Nantucket was a playlist what would it be?

Anything by the Revivalists.
