You breathe in relief, and sweet warm California air fills your lungs; This isn’t heaven – you’re just waking up at Malibu Beach Inn.  This boutique hotel is located on Malibu’s Billionaires Beach and is a sure oasis waiting to be indulged in by travelers and locals alike.

THE SLEEP: 47 guestrooms are planted right on the sandy shore, but let us be clear that these are no straw-covered sea shacks. These luxurious rooms are all steps away from the ocean and paired with beautiful sun-soaked tones and oak white trimmings. Adding to the allure of this natural space is beautiful art from the admired Mani Brothers collection.  The selection of rooms can accommodate singles, couples and families in their multi-sized suites ranging from King Pier View, King or Queen ocean front, King Ocean Front, Junior Suite or the most spacious option – the One Bedroom Suite.

Recently remodeled by designer, Waldo Fernandez, the calming blues, white oak and teak floors play enchantingly with the surrounding ocean views at The Carbon Beach Club Restaurant. Pick a spot on the ocean front terrace or curl up next to a woodburning fire for a tasty bite and beverage.  The beautifully crafted seasonal land and sea menu incorporates locally-sourced ingredients from One Gun Ranch for some pretty divine dishes. What put this place over the top for us was the magician behind the bar…

WTF: The Private Suite X Malibu Beach Inn package provides travelers with a private terminal at LAX (privacy, please!) – only 70 feet from car to plane seat, isolated TSA screenings, and an escape from airport madness. Our FAVORITE package is the Malibu Wines Excursion Package which provides a complete escape – and an excess of wine – with a day trip to the Malibu Winery plus a picnic table reservation, wine and transportation. It’s set up so you don’t have to think. Less time to think = more time to drink 😉
