Hotel Highlights: Perched on the pristine shores of famed Waikiki Beach, Alohilani Resort (named in honor of Queen Lili‘uokalani, Hawaii’s last monarch) offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Diamond Head, and cityscape from your chic suite – the rooms take their design cue from Oahu’s natural beauty with a soothing neutral palette accentuated with tropical island pops of blue, green and vibrant florals. Here, it’s all about the pool, dubbed one of the most Instagrammable in America. The saltwater infinity pool has a luxe spa-like pool deck complete with private cabanas, tiered daybeds, custom teak furniture, driftwood sculptures, lanterns and firepits. Also packing a punch is the lobby’s three-level Oceanarium where you can be acquainted with over 1000 species of indigenous marine life and coral reef formations.

Eat + Drink: The culinary experiences, from the casual to iron chef elevated, at the resort are part of the Alohilani’s draw. For a laidback island experience head poolside to Swell Bar at happy hour for delicious tropical-inspired bites and cocktails including the signature Alohilani Mai Tai. Or try the exclusive Longboard Club lounge to enjoy a curated menu and custom craft beer in your own private cabana. Come evening take your dinner plans up several notches at Morimoto Asian, the resort’s coveted modern Asian indoor-outdoor restaurant with a hip bar and chic outdoor lanais. Helmed by Masaharu Morimoto, the restaurant features a glass-encased exhibition kitchen to showcase the iron chef’s signature creations influenced by China, Korea, Japan and Thailand — on our favorite list is Morimoto peking duck, sweet and sour crispy whole fish, and lobster chow fun.

Beauty + Wellness: Alohilani takes yoga to new heights with rooftop aerial yoga workouts — discover how to swing, flip and invert yourself while being subjected to stunning views of the ocean on the resort’s rooftop. Treat yourself to a facial or massage afterward at the Island Club and Spa. You can also get pampered in your room or private cabana or keep active with the club’s fitness classes like Zumba and Aqua Fitness or play a match of tennis.

Curated Experience:  When in Waikiki, book a sunset cocktail cruise around Diamond Head and the coastline on a luxe 53-foot catamaran with Get Your Guide.
