The James Nomad, located in the ever- vibrant Nomad neighborhood, is a true urban retreat. Because of its ideal location (short walk to the Empire State and the Flatiron Building), this luxury boutique hotel caters to the discerning New York visitor and business traveler.
Decorated in the true mid-century modern style, The James Nomad boasts sleek furnishings, eclectic light fixtures, and quirky decorative pieces. The hotel has the overall look of how you wish your first apartment lived – if only you were that refined at the ripe age of 22.
The 344 rooms are all outfitted in crisp white linens and Scandinavian-esque furnishings with subtle pops of blues and grey throughout. Rooms are gracious in size (especially when measured against other New York City rooms) and are simply luxurious. The rooms all have oversized windows – ideal for people watching or for getting a better understanding of what they really mean by “The City That Never Sleeps.”
One of New York’s most iconic and favorite Italian restaurants, Scarpetta is due to open within the restaurant sometime this winter. As the Travel Curator offices are located just a stone’s throw from The James Nomad, we personally – like much of New York – are anxiously awaiting its arrival. Expect all the flavors of the Tuscan countryside without the air travel.
Nomad, the endearing nickname for “North of Madison Square Park” is a very of the moment neighborhood with a burgeoning food scene (highly recommend Oka, a new sushi restaurant) with easy access to many of New York’s most iconic landmarks. Treat yourself to a hot matcha latte from Cha Cha matcha and spend the day taking in the sites – of course, end the day with a true punctuation mark with dinner at Scarpetta.
The 24-hour fitness center has lots to offer including Peleton bikes… Although, the Nomad neighborhood does boast some 40 different fitness studios.
For the pet owner, this hotel could not be more perfect. Your pooch will be truly pampered with a plush Shinola bed and welcome amenities. It’s a dog’s life – that’s for sure.
All those design details.
