If months of armchair travel with only movies, books, and tv shows to scratch your wanderlust itch has left you with a heavy dose of cabin fever and dreaming of white sandy beaches, why not head to fabulous Miami? Beyond its famed beaches, Miami has a thriving arts, restaurant, and nightlife scene and some of the most gorgeous Art Deco and luxury hotels in the world. Here’s our pick of the best Miami hotels to escape your apartment.

Life House, Collins Park

The historic deco boutique hotel Life House Collins Park is nestled between iconic South Beach and Miami’s Collins Park neighborhood, where you’ll find a strip of upscale restaurants and trendy bars like Stubborn Seed and Kosushi

The Vibe: The hotel feels miles away from the buzz of South Beach. Instead, there’s a laid back atmosphere with trendy minimalist design elements, think vintage Marshall speakers.

Luxe Rooms: The rooms are sun-soaked, thanks to the sunshine that streams through the large windows decorated in chic neutral tones and have hand-woven tapestries and photography of the local neighborhood lining the walls. And don’t even get us started on the luxurious rainfall shower.

Eat + Drink: Enjoy locally sourced, homestyle Mediterranean cuisine at Mama Joon, the hotel’s canal-side restaurant. The veggie-focused menu features many Lebanese favorites like za’atar and chili, spicy eggplant toast, and lamb kofta.

Hotel highlight:  Most Miami hotels have a glamorous art deco history but not all can lay claim to being built by John Collins, the famed Quaker Merchant turned land developer who is credited with modernizing South Beach and shaping the city’s architectural landscape with his colonial-style design.

Sagamore Hotel South Beach

Known as “The Art Hotel” Sagamore Hotel South Beach, just steps from the beach, has its own sculpture garden that changes seasonally and mural walls that feature rotating artworks painted by renowned global artists like Abstrk that are showcased as part of Art Basel

The Vibe:  This is classic Miami, a sleek all-white deco hotel with vibrant artworks that pop from the walls, just steps from the sand.

The Rooms:  The decor takes its cue from Miami’s quintessential art deco style and each is equipped with a whirlpool tub and kitchenette if you want to bring the party to your room to enjoy the oceanfront panoramic views.

Eat + Drink: Its location on Collins Ave in the heart of South Beach gives you access to some of the hottest restaurants in town, like  Peruvian favorite Chotto Matte.

Hotel Highlight:  The Sagamore doubles as a contemporary art gallery. Sip a cocktail in your private cabana by the pool or attend one of the hotel’s in-house art events to get your creative fix.

Palihouse Miami Beach

Palihouse Miami Beach, a historic art deco building along the Indian Creek Waterway (just minutes walk from the beach), has a chic vintage style that’s a little more subdued than it’s flashy South Beach counterparts.

The Vibe: The vibe is welcoming, yet private – a true hidden gem thanks to its incredible off the beaten path location

The Rooms: The oversized rooms are pretty as a picture featuring a Mediterranean boho style and delicate shades of peach and blush that will leave you wanting to move in permanently.

Eat + Drink: The Lobby bar serves all-day American fare like fruit-filled breakfast bowls and a perfectly buttery lobster roll. And let’s not forget the spicy margs, extensive mezcal list, and signature pisco cocktails.

Hotel Highlight: The complimentary Beach Butler service, where chairs, umbrellas, and picnic lunches are packed into a custom vintage moke to transport you to your favorite beach.

Life House, Little Havana

Inspired by the enchanting mansions of Havana, Life House, Little Havana embodies the spirit and soul of 1920’s Cuba. It’s also close to Mission Revival House, a Latin cultural hub filled with lively restaurants, bars, and cafes where a whole new side of Miami is just begging to be explored.

The Vibe: Distinctly Latino. This luscious tropical paradise allows you to discover the city through fresh eyes and guests are encouraged to explore the neighborhood with events and walking tours.

The Rooms: There’s a vintage charm to every room thanks to the carriage clocks, retro bed frames, and domino game sets, a nod to this Cuban cultural favorite.

Eat + Drink: The world is literally your oyster when it comes to Little Havana restaurants and nightlife. Do try Sanguich de Miami, a perennial winner of “Miami’s best Cuban sandwich”, and the vegan arepas at Venezuelan hotspot Edukos

Hotel Highlight: The rooftop bar, Terras, has lush greenery, retro rattan furniture, and stunning views of the Miami skyline which are best enjoyed over a Cuban mojito as the sun goes down.

Loews Miami Beach Hotel

It’s recent $50 million renovation has made the landmark Loews Miami Beach Hotel one of the hottest in South Beach’s Art Deco District. Given its designer makeover and enviable beachfront location, we doubt you’ll ever want to leave.

The Vibe: As one of the largest hotels in Miami Beach, it draws a super diverse cool crowd who have made Lowes their playground.

The Rooms: The rooms are inspired by its oceanfront setting and glamorous Art Deco history with life-sized artworks – request a room in the St. Moritz building, a historical landmark with revamped rooms and wall-length pieces of art.

Eat + Drink: With five culinary hotspots on the property, there’s really no need to leave. Lure Fishbar is our favorite for its fresh seafood, including Maine lobster and inventive sushi menu.

Hotel Highlight: Loews Exhale Spa and Wellness Sanctuary, the lobby’s domed ceiling, colossal, and the luxe poolside cabanas.
