Hotel Highlights: Set on a 21-acre property in the high desert plans, El Cosmico is a nomadic hotel and campground offering an authentic mystical Tex Mex glamping experience. Guests stay in shelter-style accommodations and the options are head-spinning, including the limited-edition Cosmic Kasita, a modern meets old-world micro-home complete with queen bed, private bathroom, and kitchenette created in collaboration with the Bunkhouse design team and award-winning builder Kasita. At the other end of the spectrum, you can book an intimate safari tent or a spacious teepee with brick floors, an above-ground fire pit, loveseat, daybed. We also love the idea of bedding down in a Mongolian yurt, a little cabin style home with wood floors, leather-upholstered couch, and writing desk. Or if you really want to do things in style, their restored vintage trailers with birch interiors, kitchenettes, and cedar deck are seriously cool. Whatever shelter option you choose, you can count on an authentic outdoor/indoor stay thanks to their warm earthy tones, natural timbers, animal skin rugs, and rustic-inspired artworks.

Eat + Drink: Immerse yourself in the authentic El Cosmico culinary experience by dining at the communal outdoor kitchen. Guests can also congregate with your glampers in the community lounge and hammock grove.  If you are looking to venture out and enjoy the small-town restaurant scene at nearby Marfa, known for its cattle ranching legacy and close proximity to Mexico, try Food Shark, a food truck serving “Mediterranean-by-way-of-West-Texas,” cuisine or Buns n’ Roses, a bakery and coffee shop beloved for its great breakfast.

Beauty + Wellness: The hotel has its own Apothecary which stocks El Cosmico-inspired wellness products including the ECPC Cosmic Face Oil and natural beauty brands including Earth tu Face, Weleda, and Sisters. The property is also a hub for events, workshops, and retreats designed to elevate the mind, body, and creative spirit from cooking and art classes to songwriting and the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Love.

Curated Experience: For a fully relaxing experience, rent a wood-fired Dutch hot tub or a bike to explore Marfa and the acres surrounding the hotel. The property also has an open stage where you can enjoy concerts, movies, art, and cultural happenings amidst the mystical desert.
