Katie McElveen

Katie McElveen got her start as a travel writer while reporting on the small towns that dot her home state of South Carolina. After just one year, she was tapped to co-author two editions of Fodor's Guides to South Carolina and Georgia. More than two decades later, Katie has cruised, flown, trekked, driven, paddled, skied, climbed, and meandered her way through more than 40 countries. Her experience on the ground includes cooking with chefs around the world, sipping wine with vintners in the US, Europe, and South America, and interviewing countless professionals ifrom wellness to nterior design. Her experiences have been documented in hundreds of articles, both online and in print, for publications such as Islands, Fodor’s, Sherman’s Travel, Bride's, Modern Bride, Virtuoso, Reader’s Digest, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Global Traveler, Afar, Spa, Town & Country, and Real Simple.
